Hit & Miss **Update**

Wednesday March 26th, 2014
Latest update - Had the hard cast removed yesterday and things have been going better than normal as far as the x-rays go. They told me that everything set and healed way better than expected considering how bad the break was, I'm so relieved for that. Now for the rest of the healing process and exercising my hand and wrist. I still have some pain when I move it different ways, but this will pass as I build the muscles back up. I still have over $25K in medical bills which I have no idea how I'm going to pay for, any help can be sent to www.gofundme.com/helpdjdarkgift as every single dollar helps as I've got nothing coming in till I can get healed up and land a new job, God willing. I  hope things turn around for the better. Thanks for all the get well messages and comments on FB as they've meant a lot.  I'll keep everyone up to date as things develop.

Just an update of sorts, I was off to see my Orthopedic Doctor today for some more x-rays and to have my splint removed and the hard cast put on. After all was said and done, the x-rays looked as good as they could be, which was very good news to hear, and that I will have to wear the hard cast for four weeks. Hopefully in four weeks when I am due back for my follow up, things will have healed up and I can get it taken off. The good thing is that I've regained movement in my elbow as the cast didn't have to go up that far like the splint did.

For a few days I thought really hard on the color of the cast, as a plain white one would just not be me. Those that know me had expected me to go with a purple one, big surprise there, but no. I decided to go with a pink one to support Breast Cancer Awareness in memory of my Mother whom I lost to this terrible disease back in 2001. I'm really digging it, have already had some friends sign it, and it certainly does get some heads turning as one could only imagine. I'll post up a few photos below.  Well, time for some much needed rest and I'll be back at the keyboard as soon as I can muster up some thoughts worth sharing.

Hope that you are all well and I just want to say thanks to everyone who has called or messaged me with good tidings and get well wishes, as they are certainly appreciated and needed.

Anyone wishing to help out with the rather high out of pocket medical bills, to date I'm up over $25,000.00 which is a real mental drain on me still being out of work and not having any insurance to help with said bills. You can visit my fundraiser page at www.gofundme.com/helpdjdarkgift

Thanks again Everyone and God Bless you all,

Hit and Miss

Leave it to a little snow on the road to ruin one's day. February fifth 2014, while I was driving to northern New Jersey to follow up on a friends jobsite I unfortunately hit a patch of snow on the edge of the road and is pulled my Jeep off the road into a telephone pole. Unfortunately, I was holding the steering wheel with my left hand when I collided with the pole. The result was a fractured and dislocated left wrist. It kind of folded up like a cheap suit. Luckily, when I reached the emergency room at the local hospital, they were kind enough to call in an orthopedic surgeon who was able to twist and yank my wrist back into place. After setting it in a hard splint and taking a follow-up x-ray he informed me that my wrist had set better than he had expected and that I probably would not require surgery.

I was originally told that the complete healing process would be 8 to 12 weeks, tomorrow I go for my hard cast which I am being told I will only have to wear for three weeks, which I was very happy to hear. So it looks like the recovery time will be considerably less hopefully. I have given it a lot of thought as to which color cast I will get and I decided to go with either pink or hot pink to support breast-cancer awareness in memory of my mother whom I lost to this terrible disease back in 2001.

The accident and condition of my wrist at the time, as it looked like a pretzel, is no more painful than the bills that followed. As of this date, the bills have exceeded $23,000. Unfortunately I am still out of work, have no medical insurance, nor can I collect unemployment because my claim has run out.

Anyone willing to help out with my situation can visit www.gofundme.com/helpdjdarkgift as I would appreciate any help that I can receive. It is bad enough that I had to let the station go down because I cannot keep up with those bills. Anyone willing to help with the station can also visit www.gofundme.com/darkgiftradio as I am trying to raise funds to get the station back up on the air. God knows that I will have more than enough free time on my hands recovering and getting the station back up Will raise my spirits by giving me something to do which I love immensely.

I have been fortunate enough to land A spot on www.neueregelradio.com where I will be doing A weekly show on Saturday nights from 8 PM to midnight. Hopefully you can all stop by, hangout and give me a listen.

That is it for now, I shall write some more when I am feeling up to it and let you all know how I am doing. I would like to thank all of you out there who have helped me so far since the accident.
